It is jacaranda season – there are purple trees everywhere; roads and lawns carpeted with their fallen flowers. They seem to glow, creating this luminous atmosphere around them, lush in their colour and vividness. I have been photographing them wherever I go over the past few days, so that I can record their presence here, reminding us that before the hullabaloo of the festive season comes glorious jacaranda time.
I am especially thinking of Nicky this week – she mentioned jacarandas in a comment on the previous post about flowers – and also her dad Mike, who died recently, as the jacarandas were blooming. This one is for you both.

Wow, gotta love natures FREE art shows! I have just returned from Isle of Pines and Noumea, could not help but be impressed by the lovely vibrant colours and size of the tropical plants, flowers and trees….very beautiful.
